Slingbox
AcquiredFirst VP of Product, Sling Media
Hired before funding to own strategy and product for the very first Slingbox across desktop, mobile, launch, and support. Sling was acquired by EchoStar (DISH) in 2007 for $380M. I got to be a very small part of a very lucky team.
HP Digital Media Receiver
Mediabolic · 2003
The first streaming media player for the home. I designed the entire ten foot experience for browsing and playing music, photos, and video on a TV.
Denon Networked DVR

The first networked whole-home DVR. Won Best of CES (overall) that year.
Boxee
Advisory, Stage Two
Crafted the initial go to market strategy for the Boxee software and the Boxee Box, a highly disruptive media streamer that ran across platforms.

Early product strategy work on the streaming box that helped define on demand movie rental before the Walmart acquisition.

Worked with Bug Labs from initial concept through launch. The BUG was a modular mobile device before the iPhone existed, featured on CNBC and awarded Best Innovation at CES 2006.

Led product for a dozen plus prototypes and shipped products across HBO Max, CNN, Bleacher Report, and Adult Swim, poking at AI/ML, AR/VR, blockchain, voice, and OTT. Also designed and built out a physical media lab for next generation experiential prototyping.
Augie Studio

The first AI assisted video production platform. Augie helped pioneer practical AI driven video workflows and reached hundreds of thousands of creators, marketers, and media teams. We raised over $5M in venture funding and were acquired by JW Player (now JWX) in 2025.

A web portal for PalmPilot owners, back when it was still called PalmPilot. Within six months we were the #2 Palm site online, on a total budget of zero dollars. I like to think we closed the first dot com, long before the crash.

A daily movie guessing game. Guess the film from a one second, heavily pixelated clip that sharpens with each wrong answer. A weekend build that found a real audience.
